Examining Plants

Continuing with our plant unit....

We are making our own version of a chia pet.

I can't wait to see how they turn out!

Now it is time to check on our seeds.

They are really starting to grow!

This bean plant still has the seed shell attached to the leaves! How cool!

Look at the roots growing on this bean!

Look at our little grass-heads! Too cute!

Open House!

We had a wonderful open house. Look at all these smart kiddos showing off their work!

Thank you parents for all you do! You have raised such wonderful children! Thanks for sharing them with me.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish

We made tissue paper fish along with our study of animals and habitats.

We did a little graphing to show class data of our fish designs.

After reading Bartholomew and the Oobleck, we decided to do a little science of our own.

We mixed 2 parts cornstarch with 1 part water colored green. (Gives that Oobleck look.)

Next we mixed it together with our hands.

Oobleck is amazing! When you touch it in the bowl, it feels like a solid but when you pick it up, it turns to a liquid.
So.... what is it? A solid or a liquid???

Learning How to Reasearch

We each chose an animal to research.

We found information about our animals from lots of sources.

Soon we will be publishing our own "Guess Who?" books through Student Treasures. Check back to see our finished product.

Learning About Plants

First we need soil.

We put soil in our cups.

Then we put in seeds.

We can't wait to see our plamts sprout.

We know that we will need water, soil and sunlight for our plants to grow.

Growing our own plants have been so much fun. Check in later to see how they havbe grown.
